Camilla believes the foundation of any good health care practice should start with nutrition. Optimal nutrition is the cornerstone of health and wellness, it is the building blocks we need to function on a daily basis. Optimising nutrition for at least 4 months prior to conception is essential for maximising not only fertility but pregnancy outcomes and the health of the future child. In the age of high tech farming, pollution and modern lifestyle nutritional medicine is more than just eating a balanced diet, it may involve correcting nutrient deficiencies or checking that the body is not burdened with unnecessary toxins.
Eat food our prehistoric ancestors would have eaten, eat clean, preferably organic food, eat plenty of plant based foods, especially dark green leafy vegetables, a little organic meat and eggs and always include good quality fats in your diet like nuts, seeds and wild caught seafood.
The foods to avoid are the processed, manufactured, denatured foods, the foods with long sounding chemical names on the label, sugar in all its forms and gluten. In my clinical experience most people benefit dramatically when switching to a low grain, gluten free diet. Some people may not tolerate dairy well and other people may have more specific food sensitivity issues that need to be clinically assessed. Listen to what your body is telling you.”
